Viamedina is a project devised by Lino Davide, composer and arranger of its repertory, in 1996. In 2001 the first important passage on a national scale in the Radio programme Demo, on Radio Rai 1, when the song Stu Mare becomes its closing signature for some weeks. This same song in 2003 is included in the first compilation edited by Mei /Audiocoop, the Italian independent Labels  Association, Radio Pirata, on a national distribution  and in another compilation edited by Raitrade, The Best of Demo.

In 2004  Viamedina participated  to another important compilation on a National scale, Sulla Memoria, with the song Alla Festa , homage of some independent labels and artists to the commemoration of the Memory Day, against all the wars and racial persecution. In

the same year the movie directors B.Colella and L.Giuliano choose the song Stu Mare as

leitmotiv of their movie Ladri di Barzellette, on the screen of all the Italian theatres.

In 2005, FolkClubEthnosuoni, historical Italian Label, specialised in folk/roots and world music, supports Lino Davide’s project and published the Cd Viamedina which runs through the musical travel of this band, 10 tracks written and arranged by Lino Davide, with the participation of a few guest who gave their contribution to the realisation of this album. In January 2006 with the song Acqua, written to awaken about the problem of water supply in the South of the World, Viamedia participated to another compilation edited by Mei/Audiocoop, The Best of Indies in Italy, to represent a selection of the Italian independent music at the Midem in Cannes. In February, same year the Parchement of the Siae Award, as one of the three finalists among over 1500 participants. The Cd Viamedina which has achieved widespread success with the specialised Press in now in the ARCHIVIO SONORO OF THE NEAPOLITAN SONGS

(Music Archives of the Neapolitan Songs) and its tracks are in the playlist of the most important Radio specialised in folk and world music all over the world.
